Billy Lamb - Head Cross Country and Track Coach

Billy Lamb is currently head boys and girls track coach, head boys and girls cross country coach, and assistant middle school football coach. Coach Lamb has coached 39 years: including Webster HS, Tulsa, OK, Livingston Univ (now University of West AL), Dempoplis, AL, Opelika, AL, and Mississippi College (17 years). He also coached Basketball at Demopolis and Football at Opelika.

Coach Lamb teaches PE at Madison Middle and has taught Biology, Social Studies, and Driver’s Ed. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1958. Coach Lamb attended Mississippi College from 1958-1962 and graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1967. He received his masters degree from Kansas University in 1968. At Mississippi College, he ran cross country and track. He beat school records for 880 yards and two relay teams. He was the co-captain of the track team. He also broke the NLU Cross Country Course record as a club runner, running 3 miles in 14:28. Coach Lamb also placed 2nd in the Kansas City All Comers Summer Championship in the mile run.

He has been married to Betty Love Lamb for 43 years. She teaches 9th grade APAC English at Murrah High School. He has one daughter Jamie Eads, and one son Perrin Lamb. He has three grandchildren – William and Sydney Love Eads, and Keely Elizabeth Lamb. The Lamb’s love Madison, MCHS, and MMS!
